Spinal Cord Injury and the COVID-19 Pandemic
Spinal cord injury or dysfunction (SCI/D) is a life-altering condition involving damage to the spinal cord, either from traumatic or non-traumatic causes. Many people living with SCI/D experience multiple secondary conditions, increased medication use, or other barriers in accessing care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals with spinal cord injury or dysfunction were disproportionately impacted and experienced additional challenges in accessing healthcare needs. In the infographics below, we explore some of the impacts of the pandemic on healthcare use, homecare services, vaccinations, mortality, and health outcomes among people with SCI/D.

Care Transitions for People with Hip Fracture
Individuals who experience a hip fracture have numerous care transitions, such as between hospital, in-patient rehabilitation, and community settings. Improving the transition process is important for ensuring quality care, however, little is known about the priorities of different key interest groups. Our aim was to conduct a concept mapping study to gather recommendations from individuals with hip fracture, care partners, healthcare providers, and decision-makers regarding care transitions for hip fracture.
